The Cedars-Sinai Urology Residency is a five-year program that is designed to prepare future urologists for a career in academic or community urology. The program consists of an intern year in General Surgery at Cedars-Sinai, followed by four years in Urology, which includes a six-month research rotation. Residents receive training in all areas of urology.
South Pointe's Internal Medicine program has an established morning report curriculum with strong attending physician participation as well as daily noon lectures, critical care rounds, M&M conferences, board review, Challenger and weekly journal clubs. We also participate regularly in a state-of-the-art skills lab with monthly sessions dedicated to procedures specific to internal medicine.
The large number and complexity of operative procedures performed at Cleveland Clinic provides our residents abundant experience in clinical anesthesia and the opportunity to develop sub-specialization skills. Basic and clinical research opportunities further prepare residents to deliver state-of-the-art care to patients.
Our Dermatology Residency Program (DRP) provides a comprehensive academic and clinical experience in dermatology and the subspecialty fields of dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Such training enables our graduates to pursue with distinction careers in academic dermatology, clinical dermatology, as well as subspecialty training in dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology and dermatologic surgery.
As a full service community hospital, Fairview offers family medicine residents the opportunity to learn directly from experienced attending physicians and sub-specialists in a friendly,personalized environment. Residents provide continuing care for patients similar to those that they can expect to manage in their future careers as family physicians. At the same time, the educational resources of Cleveland Clinic provide residents with the opportunity to learn "cutting-edge" medicine at one of the nations best-known referral centers.
The 4+1 structure of rotations has given us the unique opportunity to provide protected learning time for residents. The didactics have been organized as academic half days during the longitudinal clinic week which provides a small group setting that helps engage residents in group activities and discussions.
In this "trainee-centered" program, you have the option to track into a curriculum specifically designed to give you more extensive experience in the gynecologic subspecialties. By self-selecting into areas of career interest, you will naturally demonstrate a greater focus on your training. This flexible training concept also allows you to spend more time within your subspecialty areas of interest, thereby gaining increased proficiency in advanced procedures and becoming more active in surgical management of patients and complex decision making.
